Spending my eternity as a muscle car was never in the cards, but having my life and love ripped from me on my deathbed made me reconsider my options. Eleison. That’s the name my parents gave me. A word from an ancient language meaning to show mercy. Troy wouldn’t see any from me. Noctis was a city full of possibilities. Once you got past its mesh of high-tech and Gothic architecture, the boundless expanse of the metropolis, and the faceless autocrat Architect running everything, the notion of living forever as an upload didn’t sound half bad. Most Noctis residents elected to have their consciousness uploaded to an eternity server or into a new body like a cyborg or humanoid.

Not my style. If I was gonna do this right, I needed to guarantee I was irresistible to him. After four years of engagement, it was so easy. Troy loved classic cars. A few black-market upgrades and an illegal consciousness transfer and I was in business. Made sure to leave this Sidewinder Custom in my will to him after I was gone.

Shimmering chrome exhaust pipes in triplicate on my rear quarter panels. Ram air intake on my hood. A fresh coat of midnight blue and carbon racing rims. Oversized rear tires. Chrome skull stick shift with six on my floor. Nuclear powered afterburners. He didn’t have a prayer of resisting this. Especially, if it was a parting gift from yours truly. You crossed the wrong bitch, Troy.
