Just received word (and permission to announce a tad early) that my Appalachian gothic/upmarket fiction novel manuscript, This Bitter Earth, was selected as one of five finalists in Appalachian Literary Arts & Storytelling Festival's annual writing competition. The final results should come out in September or October. I'm thrilled and honored to stand among those still in consideration.
